Fraction Learning Story


In Maths with Miss Gibbs we have being working on our fractions but hard ones.
The problem is about Manaia’s Church is having a Mother’s Day service on Sunday. They spent ¾ of an hour practising on Tuesday afternoon, and ⅞ of an hour practising on Wednesday afternoon. How many hours have they practised for so far this week?
I was trying my best to find out how many hours have they practised for so far this weekend?
First we draw a diagram with ¾ and we colored in 3 boxes because it says on the problem that Manaia’s sister’s spent ¾ of an hour.
Then we draw another diagram with ⅞ and colored in 7 boxes because it says that ⅞ of an hour practising on Wednesday afternoon.
After that my maths group were tired same as me but I didn’t give up because when you are in a maths group you don’t give up i was really trying my best thinking and thought to worked out the problem but it was time to pick up.
Next time don’t give up on your maths group just like me and my group because it not good to give up just keep going and then you will get it all of your braining ideas.
I worked that work as a team is a good thing because if you work by yourself and you got lost on something you might need help with something.

It’s not about being the best, it’s about improving your personal best and not giving up. Beating my personal best is a goal I have achieved this year, even if I struggle, I never give up. The first thing we did was rest/play. While we were resting/playing we watched others to see what they did to be good. We also cheered people on and encouraged them to keep on trying. Encouraging was something I did all day. I was a brilliant cheerleader. I enjoyed encouraging my peers so that it would motivate them to achieve their personal best. Art Learning Story.

What is surrealism art? Surrealism began as a philosophical movement that said the way to find truth in the world through the subconscious mind and dreams. Surrealist works often show familiar things in unexpected or impossible ways. Art is not my thing. But I stepped out of my comfort zone and had a try. I was really good at relating to others because I asked for advice on what colors I could use. In my art, I combined a guitar and my face. It shows that music is my passion. My hair has patterns in it which show my culture which is Samoan. The K.C skills I used was self-managing. I focused and chose the right people and the right place to get my art done. I didn’t distract other people and I shared my ideas. I was struggling with the equipment because it was too thick like the pastel.
