Veititi’s Own Report:

“A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement” - Bo Bennett.

I am good at Netball. I am a supportive person in my team.
Whenever we lose a game I encourage other people in my team who are feeling irritated to be happy about what they have achieved and done.

I think that being friendly is the key thing to use when you’re relating to others
or with your friends, and this is one of my best strengths because when people are
having a hard time I have. I am also good at this competency because whenever I
work in a group I can share my ideas and help people in my group understand the text.
I am good at relating to others because I ask questions to my buddies when I’m stuck.

This year when times have been hard I have used the strategy of asking for
help and thinking that it doesn’t matter what people say. I believe that you should
“Treat other people the way you want to be treated”. There have been times when I don’t
think other people have been kind to me. Whenever this happens to me I politely talk to them about why I don’t like it. Some people in my school think that it’s o.k to be a bystander but I strongly disagree because I think that it’s everyone's responsibility to not be a bystander but a person who stands up and shuts down the problem.

Self Managing is the key thing I do by myself. I do this when
I manage myself by getting my work done and making the right choice by sitting with the right people and not disturbing other
people every time at work time.

I am good at being confident and stepping out of my comfort zone in
Kapa Haka because I am excellent at picking up the guitar chords very quickly.
I am also good at knowing the tune/chords for each of the songs and I’m not shy about playing in front of people. I have improved on singing along and learning
Maori words and the meaning of them so fast.

Samoan is my beautiful culture. I am good at talking in Samoan fluently to people who talk my language.
I am also good at Siva Samoa. Me and some Samoan girls and boys performed when it was Samoan
Language Week and I was one of the girls who performed a solo part in our dance.
I was very proud of myself. The Key Competency I use in Samoan Language is
Relating to others because I always help people who are in my school to speak Samoan.

I am a successful learner because I can ask people for help because
I know it will benefit me in finishing my work to a high standard.
I can share my ideas so other people in my group can spark off my
ideas and so they can get an idea of what they could do.

A goal I have achieved this year is receiving a Principal’s Award. For
“Making awesome learning choices and for being supportive and patient when helping others to

be the best learners they can be”. I achieved this by getting my work done. For example; being focused on my learning and finishing it on time so I can have choices.
I have been performing, sharing and showing my musical talents to the whole school and taking
part in Kapa Haka by playing the guitar.

I help my class to be safe, fun, and a quality learning environment
by including other people in my class to be the best person they can be by helping them on their work and persuading those who haven’t done very much work
or completed their work. I also take responsibilities of being a Yr 8 to make sure stuff is going
perfectly and going fine in class. For example: making sure everyone uses appropriate language,
making sure people are being practical & optimistic.

The Jobs I applied for were; Whanau Sports and Kindergarten Reader.
My next step is to join more and more school jobs because I have been very busy and I haven’t been confident enough. I think I am going to be more confident by joining jobs.
I have also joined some class jobs. For example: P.E equipment. I have been helping other
people in my class with their jobs like Tables and Chairs, Blinds, Chromebooks, Notices.

The learning I like to do the most at school is Learning Stories because
I think it could help me next year when I go to college. For example; reflecting onmy clever ideas. It also helps me to reflect on what I have done. For example; in Kapa Haka,
I played the guitar.

These are the types of books I love to read… Non-Fiction, Fantasy and Humour/Funny books.
I use the school library to do my work, choose my book and reading because the obvious thing forthe library is to read.

I feel calm and relaxed when we do silent reading because I always dive and sink into my book and sometimes I can’t stop reading. Sometimes when I am silent reading in my class we stop often and I think it annoys me because I really, really like reading but I don’t think my teachers and friends

know that reading is one of my passions to do. I love that moment when you open one and sink into it,

you can escape from the world, into a story that’s way more interesting than yours will ever be.
