It’s not about being the best, it’s about improving your personal best and not giving up. Beating my personal best is a goal I have achieved this year, even if I struggle, I never give up. The first thing we did was rest/play. While we were resting/playing we watched others to see what they did to be good. We also cheered people on and encouraged them to keep on trying. Encouraging was something I did all day. I was a brilliant cheerleader. I enjoyed encouraging my peers so that it would motivate them to achieve their personal best. In a way it made me feel as though I was responsible for a little bit of my peers accomplishments and happiness. Only a little bit. Then we moved on to discus. I think I tried my best to get silver even though my goal was to get gold but at least I tried. I had to learn how to hold a discus before I threw it and to throw it in the right direction. Reading Learning Story.

For reading we have been reading different stories. Most of our stories that we have been reading were based on myths and legends from different cultures. In reading me and my group have been reading this story called “Tarakura of the Rangitaiki Plains” by Bernadine Ngaheu. It was about a great Chief and great Warrior, his name was Iratumoana. There was also another character & this character was not a human, he was Tarakura, the monstrous taniwha who plagued the people of Ngati Awa. This book was interesting because there was a sentence that hooked me in Here is the sentence I was talking about: “This conflict between chief and taniwha would determine the future of the Ngati Awa people”. It hooked me in because.. it has interesting words- for example: Conflict & Determine. It also hooked me in because when I read it the author made me feels like I am part of the story. My Yr 8 Leavers Legacy.

Veititi is leaving her legacy for us at Corinna School and from her legacy she wants it to stay within us. She is a straightforward, trustworthy, musically talented young lady. She hopes that people in Corinna School will be like her Music is apart of Veititi. It fits and suits her personality. Now that it is. It can’t be taken away. It is engraved in her heart. It gives her different opportunities. For example, Virtuoso Strings Orchestra. She said that hopefully in the future music could be her career and maybe in the future, she would have the ability to create music events and be a songwriter. Veititi wants to be remembered for being a caring, intelligent and outgoing person. Also for being a tall giant person and being a girl who is full of confidence.
